About The Event

We hope to see you at all 3 sessions of Foresight 2020, as each event has a unique mix of engaging keynotes, industry speakers, practitioner discussion and CyberCube interactions.

The focus of Foresight is to provide a forum for sharing, debate and problem-solving around key cyber risk and insurance themes. Therefore, we are proud to showcase (re)insurance clients, threat intelligence specialists and CyberCube experts in the program, to share their experiences and how they are using analytics to solve problems.

There will be plenty of opportunity to network with the CyberCube community and engage with CyberCube on product-related matters on our interactive virtual conference platform. CyberCube will host drop-in booths throughout the program to reach your client services executive, feedback on the CyberCube User Interface experience or learn about new product developments.

Invite-only workshop sessions | Portfolio management to understand individual drivers of risk
How can portfolio managers and individual risk underwriters maximise the value of common data sources? Hosted by Laurel DiSilvestro and Mohammad Al Boni. A key aspect of portfolio cyber catastrophe risk management is identifying key drivers of cyber risk. This session will explore and discuss the challenges in identifying key drivers such as single points of failure, companies, and regions. It explores the importance of continuity of data and ease of workflow to gain relevant and actionable insights that informs the underwriting process through to enterprise level risk management. The role of “fit for purpose” data is discussed including market level challenges in delivering high quality recent data at a global level. Finally, this section explores how tools can optimize workflows to enable easy drill downs and interpretation of data from the portfolio to individual risk level.

Invite-only workshop sessions | Cyber accumulation: what's in the intensity? Exploring differences between modeling bad and "worst-case" cyber events.
Exploring differences between modeling bad and "worst-case" cyber events. Hosted by Matt Silley and Jacob TapperWhen modeling catastrophic cyber events, it's imperative to consider material drivers of loss and how they impact the tail. In this workshop we will introduce CyberCube's research around severity intensity and how we have utilised it in our recent model release. We want to explore how the market characterises intensity and identify where development should be focussed to deliver continued granular insights. Expect to discuss questions like; 'Does the driver of intensity vary by event type?' and 'Can a consistent framework be implemented or does a one-size-fits-all approach not apply to cyber?'.

Main stage | Quantifying the financial cost of cyber
This second session will focus on how to quantify cyber risk - either at individual account level, portfolio level or market-wide - and subsequently how to share those numbers in a robust, actionable way. Sessions today include a case study from Lloyd’s on their recent Realistic Disaster Scenario development and a conversation with reinsurers on best practices - and frequent roadblocks - in catastrophe reporting

How are scenarios designed, and what historical precedents and future risks are considered during scenario creation? These and other questions will be investigated to give a comprehensive insight into the value and applicability of the Portfolio Manager scenario catalogue. We invite you to submit your questions in advance so we can tailor the discussion to your specific needs.

Workshop | Deriving insights from data
What conclusions can you draw from cyber data sources? Hosted by Lewis Guignard and Trishala NeerajHow does your business take existing and new data sources and extract meaning from them to make effective business decisions? Cyber, in particular, poses its own challenges: the volume of data, the immaturity of the sector, complexities of interpretation… Intuition about indicators can often lead to incorrect conclusions, further motivating the need for data-driven thinking and decisions. This session will present a framework for how to think about a company’s data roadmap, where insight generation fits in, and share some of our own high impact insights to help make better business decisions - such as how prior cyber events affect a company’s security posture and the likelihood of future events. We will uncover some exciting new conclusions being drawn at CyberCube and how they challenge some of the underlying assumptions generally made when looking at the world from a cyber perspective.
